LEGO 75810 Stranger Things: Details About the Minifigures and the Look of the Set

Please note: StoneWars is a German LEGO News Blog. We started to translate some of our more important articles to english, but this is very beta at the moment.

The LEGO 75810 Stranger Things Set will be presented on May 15th and will probably also be available for sale in the LEGO Online Shop for VIP members from then on. In the meantime, some details about the minifigures and the look of the set have leaked out, which we would like to pass on to you here.

In the following you will find a summary of all previous information about the set including our old articles from March and April. You can use the table of contents to navigate:

First teaser pictures of Dustin and the Demogorgon

The first picture of two minifigures from the upcoming LEGO 75810 Stranger Things Set appeared at the online shop of Lucky Bricks on April 30th. The teaser picture shows the minifigures of Dustin Henderson and Demogorgon from the Asset Portal, where dealers can buy marketing material for their online shops.

It remains to be seen whether it was intentional or accidental. Fact is: It is a first small teaser to the set, which will be presented on May 15th at midnight in London and sold afterwards. The picture was found in the shop of Lucky Bricks by the colleagues of Promobricks.

LEGO 75810 Dustin & Demogorgon

Especially the release of the Demogorgon should please and surprise quite a lot of fans. Even as a minifig, the monster is quite creepy and has special legs (taken from the LEGO Dimensions 71256 Team Pack of the Gremlins) and a new element for the head. The fan darling Dustin Henderson would be there as a minifigure, was somehow clear, but I still like the figure very much.

General information about the set

Joyce Byers Haus is a central hub of the first season of Stranger Things and is now released as a LEGO set under set number 75810. The set is called “The Upside Down”, consists of 2.287 bricks and costs 199,99 Euro. The set will initially be sold exclusively by LEGO as a D2C set in the LEGO Online Shop and LEGO Brand Stores and is clearly aimed at adult LEGO fans of the series.

  • Set number: 75810
  • Name of the set: The Upside Down
  • Number of pieces: 2.287
  • Number of minifigures: 8
  • Price: USD 199,99 (RRP)
  • price/piece: 8,7 cents
  • VIP-release: May 15th 2019
  • Official release: June 1st 2019

The release of the set will probably surprise many LEGO fans. When we reported about the release of a Stranger Things set at the beginning of March, many LEGO fans smiled at us because Stranger Things doesn’t fit into the otherwise child-friendly concept of the Danish toy manufacturer.

However, we were right about our assumption and LEGO has again overruled its own guidelines and is now offering for the first time a set for a series whose contents contain some horror elements. But after the release of LEGO Indiana Jones in 2008 and LEGO Overwatch in 2018, no one should be surprised if LEGO likes to be a little more generous about its own (self-imposed) boundaries.

Description of the set

Included in the LEGO 75810 “The Upside Down” set is the house by Joyce Byers in two versions: One “normal” and one as an upside-down version, which is located directly on the underside of the house. In addition there is Chief Hopper’s police truck and of course 8 minifigures, which we have listed below.

The house looks relatively similar to the movie model and can therefore be described as “unspectacular”. The building contains the rooms of Will Byers, the wall described with letters and a part of the living room. From behind the house is completely open and playable. Inside the house you can also see the Christmas lights, which play an important role in the series.

Next to the house there are two trees – one to the left and one to the right of the house. These are used as supports in the upside-down side of the building and hold the house itself a few centimetres above the ground. The upside-down house and also the trees around it are kept in much darker colours. The whole house can then be turned upside down so that the upside-down part is at the top.

The fan model of Finn aka Mr.MOCsProductions will serve as an illustration, but it is much bigger than the official LEGO set with the number 75810. After all, everyone who hasn’t seen any Stranger Things will get an impression of what we’re talking about here 😉

Included Minifigures

The LEGO 75810 Stranger Things Set will of course also contain some minifigures. Included are most (not all) figures you might have wished for as a fan:

  • Will Byers
  • Dustin Henderson
  • Lucas Sinclair
  • Mike Wheeler
  • Eleven (Jane Hopper)
  • Joyce Byers
  • Jim Hopper
  • Demogorgon

The kids are all equipped with the new medium-length teen legs, which makes them moveable.

Unfortunately there are some characters that some fans of the series had hoped for: Jonathan Byers, Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler and Max Mayfield are missing. But LEGO has actually released the Demogorgon with a new shape for the head. As far as I know, the Demogorgon is the first real horror monster to be created in the form of a LEGO minifigure.

LEGO Stranger Things Teaser

For the figures there is also a small stand on which 4 figures can be placed. On the side of it is a “Stranger Things” lettering.

Midnight event on May 15th in London

On 28 April, LEGO announced a Midnight Opening Event for the Leicester Square LEGO Store in London for 15 May 2019. On this date, the LEGO 75810 Stranger Things Set will be officially unveiled and sold by LEGO.

I think the set should be on sale in the LEGO Online Shop at the same time, and we can expect to see some teasers by then, but it’s already clear from the folder that can be seen on the picture of the event that it must be the Stranger Things Set. The folder labeled “Classified” contains three documents, one of which is clearly a photo of Will Byers. Strictly speaking it shows this photo of Will Byers:

If you put the two photos on top of each other and use a little GIF magic, you can animate the whole thing nicely:

So: If you still doubt a LEGO Stranger Things Set, you might have been convinced slowly but surely. I’m really looking forward to the set. It’s a pity, of course, that we won’t be able to present you any pictures of the set until May 15th.

LEGO Stranger Things D2C Set is coming! (04 March 2019)

Already on March 04th we reported for the first time about the upcoming release of a LEGO Stranger Things D2C set. You can find the old article here:

LEGO 75810 Stranger Things

This article could also be titled “Shut up and take my money!”: In 2019 we’ll see current info and rumours about a LEGO Stranger Things Set on the shelves of LEGO Stores.

For me as a huge Stranger Things fan this is honestly the news of the year! Some time ago I heard the first birds (JJP) chirping that there will be a LEGO Stranger Things Set. Meanwhile I have good reasons to believe that these rumors are true!

I guess (for now) there won’t be a whole series of sets, but probably a single big set as D2C version. The most likely time for a release would be during the third season of the celebrated series. The third season will run on Netflix from 04 July 2019, so a release in summer 2019 is probably possible, but that’s only speculation so far.

Strange is the fact that Zach Fox Studios recently released a LEGO Ideas draft of a Stranger Things set that never made it to the LEGO Ideas website. According to the creator, LEGO rejected the set for the following reasons: “The nature of the show and its mature content and themes are the reason the set was not accepted.” – If LEGO were to actually launch its own Stranger Things set, the recent rejection of Ideas would be remarkable…

There are, of course, some possible locations for a large D2C set of Stranger Things. If you look at the first two seasons, the following locations are probably possible:

  • The Byers House
  • Hawkings Middle School
  • Palace Arcade
  • Hawkins National Laboratory
  • Starcourt Mall
  • The Upside Down

At the moment I assume that we will get the house of the Byers family, because the most important storylines of the first season will take place there. I also hope for the school in Hawkings or Palace Arcade, both of which are great locations. But my tip is still the house of the Byers family with a part of the upside down in the set. If you have other suitable locations for the LEGO Stranger Things Set, then add them to your comments.

At a current estimated price of about 200,- Euro I guess that the most important minifigures of the series will be included. My expectations and hopes here would be figures from:

  • Will Byers
  • Dustin Henderson
  • Lucas Sinclair
  • Mike Wheeler
  • Eleven
  • Joyce Byers
  • Jim Hopper
  • Demogorgon

The list can of course be continued, above all Jonathan Byers, Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler and Max Mayfield would be likely or desirable. Also here applies: Additions gladly in the comments.

Until LEGO officially confirms these rumors, this article should of course be treated as a rumor. However, I assume that we are right to expect an official LEGO Stranger Things Set in 2019. And whatever LEGO is releasing, I MUST have it!

Retailer reveals LEGO Stranger Things release details (April 23)

The first details about the upcoming Stranger Things set and set number became known on April 23rd when a relatively old mail from an Australian toy retailer appeared. The details can be found below:

This comes as a surprise: An Australian toy retailer has already revealed in a newsletter a few weeks ago that the LEGO Stranger Things Set under set number 75810 will probably be released in June.

The newsletter message comes from Toysworld in Claremont, a suburb of Perth, Australia, where the LEGO Stranger Things Set will be released in June. We have an email from 08 March 2019 in which the dealer announces many LEGO sets for the year. Please note that the prices are quoted in Australian Dollars and appear to be very high:

Some of these sets are so new we don’t even have photos!

Toyworld kündigt LEGO 75810 Stranger Things Haus an

We received the mail recently and asked the dealer for more information. We were informed that the 75810 Stranger Things House will be available in September and the 21318 Ideas Treehouse in November. If you assume the usual 3 months, the D2C sets will be released later, then the following release dates are for the two sets in the LEGO Online Shop and the LEGO Stores:

  • LEGO 75810 Stranger Things House in June
  • LEGO 21318 Ideas Tree House in August

These dates coincide with our previous information about the tree house and our speculations about the Stranger Things Set. If we assume that there will be a VIP advance sale for the LEGO 75810 Stranger Things Set (which I would assume at this time), then a sales launch around May 15th could be quite realistic. So the set should be officially introduced in a few days, at the latest at the beginning of May. And since another “Stranger Things House” than the one by Joyce Byers wouldn’t make much sense, the content of the set is pretty clear 😉

As far as prices are concerned, conversion into euros is not quite as easy. The Euro prices in the samples shown are about 60% to 70% of the prices in Australian dollars. Accordingly, the LEGO Stranger Things Set would cost about 209,- to 245,- Euro. Nevertheless, I consider a price of 199.99 Euro to be realistic.

As far as the number of parts is concerned, we have heard that the set will probably consist of 2,287 parts. At least this is the result of a listing in the Hungarian Online Shop, which recently listed the set there under the title LEGO 75810 – CONF_ST_2019. September is also listed there as the release date.

I find it fascinating that LEGO has so far managed quite effectively to keep the upcoming Stranger Things Set so well under lock and key. More fascinating, however, is that an Australian toy chain already leaked the set 1.5 months ago (4 days after our first report), without this info finding its way to the public.

What do you think of the new info? Are you looking forward to this confirmation of the LEGO Stranger Things Set or to the upcoming official presentation? We are looking forward to your comments!
